The American debut of Terms of Endearment officially opens November 16 at 59E59 Theaters. Molly Ringwald stars as Aurora Greenway in Dan Gordon’s stage adaptation, alongside Mozart in the Jungle star Hannah Dunne as her daughter. Performances began October 29.
Michael Parva directs for The Directors Company; the cast also includes Jeb Brown, Denver Milord, John C. Vennema, and Jessica Digiovanni.
The play is based on the book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Larry McMurtry and the Oscar-winning screenplay by James L. Brooks, tracing the love/hate relationship between a mother and her feisty daughter. “This funny and touching story about love captures the delicate, and sometimes fractured, bonds between mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, and lovers both old and new,“ read production notes from 59E59 Theaters.
