Telly Leung, Randy Graff, Maryann Hu, Adam Kantor, Michael McElroy, Jenni Barber, and Eliseo Roman have been named the industry coaches for the 11th annual Jimmy Awards, which will be held June 24 at the Minskoff Theatre.
The seven artists will mentor 86 high school students from across America who will showcase their talents in an effort to win the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress.
The winners will be chosen by this year's judges: Nathan Flower, Montego Glover, Alecia Parker, Marc Platt, Tara Rubin, Thomas Schumacher, Stephen Schwartz, and Bernard Telsey. Preliminary judges who evaluate nominees prior to the ceremony include Gabriel Barre, Robert Cuccioli, Nathan Flower, Stephanie Klapper, and Seth Sklar-Heyn.
The June 24 ceremony, hosted by Dear Evan Hansen star Ben Platt, will be streamed live from the Minskoff on The Jimmy Awards Facebook account.
In addition to the nominated performers, the previously announced Inspiring Teacher Award will be given to Matthew Hinson from Northwest School of the Arts in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Tasha Partee from Lawrence Woodmere Academy in Woodmere, New York. Their students won the 2018 Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor, respectively.
