The Broadway revival of Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning Long Day's Journey Into Night, produced by the Roundabout Theatre Company in association with Ryan Murphy, ends its limited engagement June 26 at 2 PM.
The production, which officially opened April 27 following previews that began April 3 at the American Airlines Theatre, will have played 22 previews and 62 regular performances.

Directed by Jonathan Kent, the production is part of Roundabout's 50th anniversary season.
Two‐time Academy Award winner and three‐time Emmy Award winner Jessica Lange plays Mary Tyrone, following her Olivier Award‐nominated performance in the role on the West End in 2000. She recently won a Tony for her work in the Broadway run. She is joined by Tony Award nominee Gabriel Byrne as James Tyrone, Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon as James Tyrone, Jr. and Tony Award winner John Gallagher Jr. as Edmund Tyrone with Colby Minifie as Cathleen.
The acclaimed revival won two Tony Awards: Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play (Lange) and Lighting Design of a Play (Natasha Katz); three Drama Desk Awards: Outstanding Revival of a Play, Actress in a Play (Lange) and Featured Actor in a Play (Shannon) and three Outer Critic Circle Awards: Outstanding Revival of a Play, Leading Actress in a Play (Lange) and Featured Actor in a Play (Shannon).
Long Day’s Journey Into Night, according to press notes, is “the tale of an ordinary summer’s day with extraordinary consequences. Drawing so heavily from the author’s personal history that it could only be produced posthumously, the story of the Tyrone family and their battle to unearth—and conceal—a lifetime of secrets continues to reveal itself to audiences as one of the most profound and powerful plays ever brought to the stage.”
The design team included Tom Pye (sets), Jane Greenwood (costumes), Natasha Katz (lighting) and Clive Goodwin (sound).
Lange has appeared twice previously on Broadway, both times in revivals of Tennessee Williams classics: A Streetcar Named Desire in 1992 and The Glass Menagerie in 2005. She won her Oscars for Tootsie and Blue Sky.
Roundabout's history with O'Neill dates back to 1983 with John Stix’s production of Ah, Wilderness, starring Philip Bosco; followed by Desire Under the Elms, directed by Terry Schreiber (1984); the Tony Award‐winning revival of Anna Christie, directed by David Leveaux, starring Liam Neeson, Natasha Richardson and Anne Meara (1993); and A Touch of the Poet, directed by Doug Hughes, starring Gabriel Byrne (2005).
The previous Broadway revival of Long Day's Journey was presented at the Plymouth (now Schoenfeld) Theatre in 2003 and starred Vanessa Redgrave, Robert Sean Leonard, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Brian Dennehy.
