Following a recent benefit performance of Hamilton in London’s West End, the Duke of Sussex took the stage to thank the crowd and the show’s creators. During his remarks, he teased a brief snippet of “You’ll Be Back,” sung in the Tony-, Pulitzer-, and Olivier-winning show by King George III—his six-times great grandfather.
“You say,” Prince Harry crooned, as the audience—and cast behind him—went wild. He was quick to add, “That’s definitely not going to happen. He (referring to creator Lin-Manuel Miranda) did try, but I said no.” Take a look in the clip above.
Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, attended the August 29 performance, which raised money and awareness for Sentebale, Prince Harry’s charity that provides support for young people living with HIV in Lesotho and Botswana. Seated with them were Miranda and Vanessa Nadal.
The musical juggernaut opened at the Victoria Palace Theatre in December 2017, going on to win seven Olivier Awards the following year.
