The marquee for the Mean Girls musical is up on Broadway inpreparation for performances to begin March 12 at the August Wilson Theatre.
Tickets will go on sale October 3 (“Mean Girls Day”) at the 52nd Street venue beginning at 10 AM. (Tickets will be on sale at the box office this day only for now; in-person sales will resume at a later date.) From 11 AM–1 PM, attendees will be treated to show-branded merchandise, surprise guest appearances, a ticket raffle, and cheese fries (anotherMean Girls staple) from Sweetery Brand's food truck.
Performances of the musical, written by the 2005 film's screenwriter Tina Fey, her husband Jeff Richmond, and Tony nominee Nell Benjamin, will begin March 12, 2018, prior to an April 8 opening. Prior to that, the show is set to receive its world premiere at Washington, D.C.'s National Theatre beginning October 31.
Taylor Louderman (Kinky Boots) will take on the role of queen bee Regina George, with Ashley Park (The King and I) and Kate Rockwell (Bring It On) as her fellow "Plastics" Gretchen Wieners and Karen Smith, respectively. Erika Henningsen, who made her Broadway debut as the youngest Fantine in Les Misérables history in the recent revival, will play the central role of Cady Heron.
