News New York Film Academy Will Present Tony-Winning Musical Spring Awakening The New York Film Academy will present the Tony-winning Duncan Sheik-Steven Sater musical Spring Awakening May 1-3 at the American Theatre of Actors' Chernuchin Theatre.

Performances are May 1 at 8 PM, May 2 at 8 PM and May 3 at 2 PM and 8 PM.

Nathan Brewer directs the production with musical direction by Anna Ebbesen and choreography by Chad Austin.

Rotating cast members include Charles Engelsgjerd, Alec Lee, Connor Lyons, Pierre Marais, Austen Pohl, Naomi Wong, Josh Wooster, Jaspal Binning, Jasmin Maria Gauguin, Ilda Mason, Georgia Roe, Josh Sanchez, KT Thomas, Patricia L. Vanga-Soto, Ally Uss, Tecca Ferreira, Alexis G. Guarneros, Cristina Hussey, Nadia Palsdottir, Raquel Tillo, Jayma Voorheis and Terra Warman.

Broadway actress Kristy Cates, who produces along with Mark Olson, told Playbill.com via email, "I am so thrilled that our musical theatre department at the New York Film Academy is presenting our first-ever musical Spring Awakening. We are an international school that welcomes students from all over the world and many countries — including, the U.S., U.K., Spain, Brazil and Denmark — are represented in our production of Spring Awakening. The Musical Theatre department is comprised of instructors who are professional actors, musicians and directors and are still actively working in the business - the majority with Broadway credits. We believe in our students, and we believe in the work we are doing! We invite you to come check out what NYFA is all about!"

The creative team also includes lighting designer Brian Barnett, costume designer Becky Bodurtha, scenic designer Ryan Howell, production stage manager Craig M.
