Egan is the mezzo-soprano soloist for the concert, which is based on Howard Shore's score for the award-winning film. John Mauceri will conduct the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra for the concert; show time is 8 PM. The evening will also include vocalist Carolyn Betty, boy soprano Eugene Olea, the Los Angeles Children's Choir under the direction of Anne Tomlinson and the Chapman University Choir & Hollywood Bowl High School Honor Choir under the direction of William Hall. Howard Shore is a three-time Academy Award winner for his scores for the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. He won a 2001 Oscar for Best Score for "Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" as well as two 2003 Oscars for "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" (Original Score and Original Song, "Into the West").
Susan Egan received Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations for her work in Beauty and the Beast, and her other theatre credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cabaret, Triumph of Love, Putting It Together and Hello Again. Her debut solo recording was titled "So Far" and includes tunes from her many theatrical outings. Her new recording is titled "Coffee House."
