Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and his father, Luis A. Miranda Jr., will take part in an intimate November 16 conversation at the Geffen Playhouse that will address Puerto Rico’s progress towards long-term recovery from Hurricane Maria.
The Miranda family has partnered with the Hispanic Federation to create the UNIDOS Fund, raising over $43 million for relief and long-term rebuilding efforts in Puerto Rico. “Lin-Manuel and I are delighted to be back at the Geffen Playhouse to share updates from the Island – the progress that has been made as well as the work ahead to continue supporting Puerto Rico’s communities,” said Luis Miranda in a statement.
The noon–1 PM conversation in the Gil Cates Theatre takes place in advance of Hamilton’s limited run in Puerto Rico, which is set for January 8–27, 2019, at the Teatro UPR in San Juan.
All proceeds from the November 16 conversation will benefit Hispanic Federation UNIDOS Fund and Geffen Playhouse’s Education and Community Engagement programs. Click here for tickets.
