The Book of Mormon Tony nominee Rory O'Malley, also seen as King George in both the Broadway and national touring companies of Hamilton, will appear in the new Lifetime scripted series American Princess premiering June 2.
The series from Jenji Kohan, Jamie Denbo, and Tara Herrmann concerns a socialite, played by Georgia Flood, who runs off to join a Renaissance Faire after her wedding goes awry. The cast also includes Lucas Neff (Raising Hope, Downward Dog), Seana Kofoed (Men in Trees, Flaked), and Mary Hollis Inboden (The Real O’Neals, Here And Now).
In the ten-episode series, O'Malley will play Brian, the Renaissance Faire's much-revered Shakespeare, with Neff as David, a Ren Faire actor who goes by the name Pizzle Humpsalot; Kofoed as Maggie, the Faire's Queen Elizabeth; and Inboden as Delilah, a free spirit who befriends Amanda.
O’Malley was also recently tapped as the full-time host of the Geffen Playhouse Podcast, Geffen Playhouse Unscripted!.
