The Theatre World Awards have revealed the 12 performers new to the New York stage who will be celebrated at the 75th annual ceremony, set for June 3.
The awards recognize those who have made Broadway or Off-Broadway debuts or delivered breakout performances over the course of the season.
The 2019 Theatre World Award Honorees are: Jeremy Pope (Choir Boy) Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) Bonnie Milligan (Head Over Heels) Gbenga Akinnagbe (To Kill a Mockingbird) Tom Glynn-Carney (The Ferryman) Sophia Anne Caruso (Beetlejuice) Paddy Considine (The Ferryman) James Davis (Oklahoma!) Micaela Diamond (The Cher Show) Simone Missick (Paradise Blue) Colton Ryan (Girl From the North Country) Stephanie Styles (Kiss Me, Kate).
Earlier this week, Pope and Considine received Tony Award nominations for their Broadway debuts. The former was double-nominated, also recognized for his work in Ain't Too Proud.
Additionally, Nathan Lane, currently on Broadway in Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus, will receive the John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre. This year's Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in the Theater recipient will be announced at a later date.
Journalist Peter Filichia will return to host the annual event at a Broadway venue to be announced. Stephen Nachamie will direct.
