Sara Laursen was already lucky enough to be tending bar at one of the biggest hits on Broadway, Hamilton.
During the March 19 evening performance, her luck went into overdrive when she served two rounds of drinks to a party attending the show with comedian Amy Schumer. The tab came to $77 for the drinks. When Laursen looked at the credit card receipt, she saw that Schumer had left her a tip of $1,000, according to WABC-TV.
Bar Captain Laursen, an aspiring actress, served the “three Double Reds and one Sam Adams.”
“I was speechless,” Laursen told WABC. “And the first thing that popped into my head was ‘are you sure?’’’
She was "totally shocked," according to Bar Manager Mike Anthony.
The Inside Amy Shumer star frequently references theatre on her Comedy Central show. ”She used to bartend back in the day. Everybody knows she is hysterical and smart, but she's incredibly generous,” Laursen said of Schumer.
Laursen split her windfall seven ways, sharing it with Anthony and five other bartenders on duty, each collecting $142.85.
