It’s surprisingly ordinary watching Micaela Diamond, the 19-year-old who plays the Babe in The Cher Show, step into the extraordinary shoes of Cher. Like every other actor, she sits down to apply her foundation and mascara. Then she puts on Cher's signature locks and flashy costume, her demeanor shifts, and it becomes clear that the big-voiced belter is more than your average girl. Basking in the glow of her splashy Broadway debut, Diamond gives Playbill an inside look at how she prepares to bring young Cher to the Neil Simon Theatre eight times a week.
