The inaugural Classic Screen to Stage Theatre Company production of Rain Man, based on the MGM film, will open August 21 at the Windsor Theatre Royal before embarking on a U.K. tour to Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Eastbourne, Southend, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Brighton, Guildford, Leeds, Richmond, Derby, and Northampton.
Mathew Horne (Gavin & Stacey, The Catherine Tate Show) will star as Raymond Babbit opposite Ed Speleers (Downton Abbey, Wolf Hall) as Charlie Babbit. Further casting and additional tour dates will be announced later.
Written by Dan Gordon and directed by Jonathan O'Boyle, the drama concerns self-centered salesman Charlie Babbitt, who, upon discovering that his long-lost brother Raymond, an autistic savant with a genius for numbers, has inherited the family fortune, sets out to get his half.
