The critically acclaimed Broadway revival of The Color Purple ended its run January 8 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.
Cynthia Erivo, who won a Tony for her performance in the role of Celie, posted a message on her Facebook page about the final show, including a video of her performance of the show-stopping "I'm Here":
The final performance was attended by former Pres. Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Debra Messing, Phylicia Rashad, and more. Mrs. Clinton, according to the New York Times, received several ovations from the sold-out crowd.
