Blondie's Deborah Harry will appear as the madwoman in the mirror in dark poet Edgar Oliver's The Drowning Pages, running May 6 and 7 and 10 14 at La MaMa E.T.C. Interestingly, this is not Harry's first stint on the legit stage. She co-starred with Andy Kaufman on Broadway in Claire Luckham's Teaneck Tanzai and the Venus Flytrap, staged as a series of wrestling matches between Harry's character and the other people in her life. The show ran two performances at the Nederlander Theatre in 1983.

Joining Harry are Oliver regular Mary Lou Wittmer as the mother, Carine Montbretrand and Marc Palmeri as "the boy who might have been."

Oliver, whose style is characterized as 19th Century romantic poet, has authored twelve plays, including The Poetry Killers, The Ghost of Brooklyn, When She Had Blood Lust, The Master of Monstrosity, I Am A Coffin, My Green Hades and Chop Off Your Ear. His plays often deal with and take place in his rather Gothic hometown, Savannah, Georgia.

Tickets are $12. La MaMa E.T.C. is located at 74A East Fourth Street. For tickets, call (212) 475-7710.
