Colman Domingo will be honored by the Vineyard Theatre at its annual gala, set for May 6 at the Edison Ballroom.

Domingo has worked with the Off-Broadway company on such productions as his Lucille Lortel-winning, self-penned show A Boy and His Soul and the New York premiere of Dot. His Tony- and Olivier-nominated performance in The Scottsboro Boys began with an Off-Broadway run of the show at the Vineyard.

"Colman Domingo is an extraordinary artist and human being, and we can’t wait to celebrate him," Co-Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern said in a statement. "He is a multifaceted artist and storyteller whose work in the theatre and on screen evinces his humanity, hilarity, and passionate creative spirit."

The Vineyard will soon be home to Jeremy O. Harris' Daddy, starring Alan Cumming. Performances begin February 12.
