Robin Zander, lead singer of Cheap Trick, is set to make his Broadway debut in Rocktopia next month. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer will be a special guest vocalist in the show for the final week of its limited engagement, April 23–29.
Cheap Trick's hits include “I Want You to Want Me,” “Surrender,” and “Dream Police.”
Rocktopia began performances at the Broadway Theatre March 20. The all-new concert event celebrates the fusion of rock and classical music and features performances by world-renowned vocalists, a five-piece rock band, a choir of 40, and an orchestra of 20.
The lineup of performers includes Train frontman Pat Monahan, Robert Evan (Les Miserables, Jekyll & Hyde), Tony Vincent (American Idiot, The Voice), Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Chloe Lowery, Kimberly Nichole (The Voice), and Alyson Cambridge (The Merry Widow).
The evening showcases the works of Mozart, Queen, Beethoven, Journey, Handel, U2, Tchaikovsky, Pink Floyd, and The Who, among others.
Created through the vision of vocalist and recording artist Evan and Maestro Randall Craig Fleischer, Rocktopia will officially open March 27 and is scheduled to play a limited Broadway engagement through April 29.
