The London stage adaptation of the Academy Award-winning screen classic All About Eve is in search of a new star. Two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, who was announced to star as Margo Channing, has withdrawn from the production due to a scheduling conflict, according to Baz Bamigboye.
Sonia Friedman Productions and Fox Stage Productions are attached to the project, which was originally slated for a spring 2018 West End bow under the direction of Tony and Olivier Award winner Ivo van Hove (A View from the Bridge).
Gillian Anderson is reportedly in talks to step into the production, now targeted for a 2019 premiere.

The 1950 film All About Eve was written and directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, based on the short story The Wisdom of Eve by Mary Orr. The movie starred Bette Davis as Channing, the prominent yet aging Broadway star, and Anne Baxter as Eve Harrington, a willingly helpful young fan who insinuates herself into Channing's life.
The film was nominated for 14 Academy Awards and won six, including Best Picture.
