The tour will begin Sept. 30 at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit. Harris was a recent understudy in Broadway's Sondheim on Sondheim. Ewoldt played Cosette in the recent Broadway revival of Les Miserables.
The cast will also include Michelle Aravena as Anita, Joseph J. Simeone as Riff and German Santiago as Bernardo. West Side Story, inspired by Romeo and Juliet, is written by two-time Tony Award winner Arthur Laurents (book) and multiple Tony and Grammy Award winners Leonard Bernstein (music) and Stephen Sondheim (lyrics) in his Broadway debut. It tells the story of rival gangs in New York City, and two star-crossed lovers who emerge.
