The 8 PM concert concludes the 8th season of the acclaimed American Songbook series. The concert, which will feature a 28-piece orchestra conducted by Marvin Laird, is part of Lincoln Center's annual Spring Gala. Peters' recital, with artistic direction by Richard Jay-Alexander, will include songs from the actress' many Broadway outings, tunes from her Grammy-nominated recordings, the jazz standard "Fever" and a few extra surprises. In addition to the concert, the Gala evening will also include cocktails at 6:30 PM in the Avery Fisher Hall Promenade and a Gala Dinner Dance in the tent in Damrosch Park at 9:30 PM. During the last part of the night, Lincoln Center's Laureate Award will be presented to Joseph R. Perella for his "dedication to the arts." Perella has been a member of Lincoln Center's Board of Trustees since 2000. The award, which is donated by Movado, will be presented by fellow Board Member Raymond McGuire.

Bernadette Peters was last on Broadway in the acclaimed revival of Gypsy, for which she received a 2003 Tony Award nomination for her performance as Momma Rose in the Sam Mendes-directed production. She won her two Tonys for her performances in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song & Dance and Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun, and she has also starred on Broadway in Mack & Mabel, On the Town, Sunday in the Park with George, The Goodbye Girl and the original production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods.

Peters' newest recording, "Sondheim, Etc., Etc.—Bernadette Peters Live at Carnegie Hall (The Rest of It)," hit stores on the Angel Records label last summer. She will appear on the May 11 episode of "Will & Grace" as Karen (Megan Mullally)'s sister.
