Michael Blakemore (Copenhagen) directs the work, which opens May 6 at the Music Box Theatre for a "strictly limited engagement" of 18 weeks.
Michael Mulheren and Broadway newcomers Joanna P. Adler and Brian Haley are also featured in the cast.
Four-time Tony winner Lansbury (Sweeney Todd, Dear World, Gypsy, Mame) returns to Broadway to play opposite fellow Tony winner Seldes (A Delicate Balance) in the new McNally work. The acclaimed actresses play former doubles tennis legends reunited at a championship match.
Mulheren — a Broadway veteran of La Cage aux Folles, The Boy From Oz, Titanic, On The Waterfront and his Tony-nominated turn in Kiss Me, Kate — joins the two stage legends along with Adler (Lydie Breeze, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told) and Haley ("Baby's Day Out," "Little Giants").
The design team for Deuce features Peter J. Davison (set), Ann Roth (costumes), Mark Henderson (lighting), Sven Ortel (video and projection) and Paul Charlier (sound). Scott Rudin, Stuart Thompson, Maberry Theatricals, The Shubert Organization, Roger Berlind, Debra Black, Bob Boyett, Susan Dietz and Daryl Roth produce the Broadway run.
With the exception of a few one-night performances, Lansbury has not graced the New York stage since her 1983 turn in the revival of Mame. The actress also appeared on Broadway in Anyone Can Whistle, The King and I and A Little Family Business. She earned an Academy Award nomination for her screen debut in "Gaslight" and also played in "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and "The Manchurian Candidate." She is known to television audiences for her lengthy stint in "Murder, She Wrote."
Seldes — a stage stalwart — won her Tony for Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance. Last seen Off-Broadway in McNally's Dedication or the Stuff of Dreams and Beckett/Albee, her Broadway credits include Equus, Ivanov, 45 Seconds From Broadway, Father's Day, Deathtrap, Ring Round the Moon and Dinner at Eight — she was Tony-nominated for the last four.
Deuce performs at the Music Box Theatre, located in Manhattan at 239 West 45th Street.
