The Dallas Theater Center revival of Tennessee Williams' The Night of the Iguana ends in Texas Feb. 11. The South of the Border drama, directed by Preston Lane (Inexpressible Island), began Jan. 17 with an opening Jan. 23 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater.

One of the later plays of Williams' heyday, The Night of the Iguana is set in the dilapidated hotel Costa Verde on the edge of the Mexican jungle, where defrocked alcoholic priest Reverend Shannon ekes out an existence as a tour guide. He searches for meaningful connection among the lost souls that surround him including the passionate widow Hannah, her 97 year old poet grandfather Nonno, and Maxine, Costa Verde's bitchy owner. MGM released a film version directed by John Huston and starring Richard Burton and Ava Gardner in 1964.

Williams' other writings include A Streetcar Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and The Glass Menagerie.

Night of the Iguana stars Michael Bradshaw as Nonno, Craig Bridger as Wolfgang, Christopher Burns (Pride's Crossing, Question of Mercy) as Reverend Shannon, Gail Cronauer as Judith Fellowes, Heidi Marie Ferren as Hilda, Monique Fowler (You Can't Take It With You, London Suite) as Hannah, Kevin Paul Hofeditz as Herr Fahrenkopf, Geraldine Librandi as Maxine, Paul Lima as Pedro, Erin Neal as Charlotte, Elizabeth Rothan as Frau Fahrenkopf and Mark Waltz as Jake Latta.

Designing the show are Walt Spangler (sets), Peter J. Hall (costumes), Robert Perry (lighting) and Shane Rettig (sound). Tickets are $55-$17.
