Tom Sturridge and Jake Gyllenhaal took their opening-night bows in Sea Wall/A Life at the Public Theater February 12. The production, directed by Carrie Cracknell, features two back-to-back monologue plays, one by Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) and the other by Nick Payne (Constellations).
Both plays explore the joys and pain of both love and loss as the men recall past events involving those they love.
