The current Broadway cast of Disney’s Aladdin can be seen below in a 360-degree video of “Friend Like Me,” performed on the stage of the New Amsterdam Theatre.
The Alan Menken-Howard Ashman song features Telly Leung as Aladdin, Major Attaway as Genie, and the company of the hit musical.
The VR video places the viewer onstage for an immersive performance. Throughout the three-minute live performance, viewers can look over, sideways, and under to discover more magic inside the show-stopper through immersive factoids, pop-up video style.
The stage production, which expands the 90-minute film into a two-act format, features music by Menken, lyrics by Ashman and Tim Rice, and a book and additional lyrics by Chad Beguelin. Casey Nicholaw directs and choreographs.
