The Stage Managers’ Association's 2018 ceremony honoring veteran stage managers will be held September 17 in Manhattan at Connolly's Pub & Restaurant in Times Square.
The evening will feature the presentation of the Del Hughes Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Art of Stage Management. Considered the crowning achievement in a stage manager's career, the award is given to those who represent the finest qualities of Stage Management: “patience, diplomacy, organization, and a sense of humor.”
This year's honorees include Broadway stage manager Roy Harris—whose credits include the original production of The Heidi Chronicles as well as The Retreat from Moscow, Sight Unseen, Rabbit Hole, Dividing the Estate, In the Next Room, Good People, The Road to Mecca, Orphans, the 2017 revival of The Little Foxes—regional stage manager Lyle Raper, and dance stage manager Maxine Glorsky.
