The jazz band is joined each week by a Broadway performer, who offers tunes from the Great American Songbook. The series will next welcome Terri White, who created the role of Joice Heth in the original Broadway production of Barnum.
Among other stars scheduled to join Traina and his Quintet are Spamalot's Marin Mazzie, Hairspray's Michele Pawk, Curtains' Jason Danieley and Karen Ziemba and A Chorus Line's Michael Berresse. Two shows are offered each Tuesday night, beginning at 9:30 PM and ending at midnight.
Joe Traina, an accomplished clarinetist and saxophonist, leads the Joe Traina Quintet on "Tea for Two," his newest CD that was released in December 2006. The recording features a mix of Broadway show tunes and jazz standards. He is joined on the 12-track disc by Mike Karn (tenor saxophone), Tim Regusis (piano), Scott Neumann (drums) and Sean Smith (bass).
In addition to Barnum, Terri White has also appeared onstage in Ain't Misbehavin', Welcome to the Club, Bubbling Brown Sugar, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Juba and Nunsense. Her solo CD is titled "The Lady's Got to Swing." Visit www.terriwhite.com for more information.
