Tracy Letts’ political comedy The Minutes, seen at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company in 2017, will arrive on Broadway in February 2020. Anna D. Shapiro, who helmed the world premiere, will return to direct, re-uniting her and playwright Letts following their Tony-winning collaboration on August: Osage County.
The Minutes, a play about small-town politics and real-world power and a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, was previously set to premiere on Broadway in spring 2018 following its Chicago debut, but was delayed.
The producing team behind the 2020 production is headed by Jeffrey Richards and Steve Traxler, with a Broadway theatre, casting, creative team and dates to be announced.
The cast of the Chicago production was made up of Kevin Anderson, Ian Barford, Francis Guinan, James Vincent Meredith, Sally Murphy, William Petersen, Brittany Burch, Cliff Chamberlain, Danny McCarthy, Penny Slusher, and Jeff Still.
Letts' play Linda Vista will begin previews at the Hayes Theater on Broadway September 19 of this year.
