Grammy and Emmy Award winner Harry Connick Jr., who currently stars in the Paper Mill Playhouse world premiere of the new musical The Sting, will be part of the 2018 Tanglewood season.
The Tony-nominated actor will offer a performance of A New Orleans Tricentennial Celebration in the Koussevitzky Music Shed June 23 at 7 PM. The concert will feature a night of Connick’s hits and New Orleans favorites.
The previously announced season also includes a solo concert from Audra McDonald with the Boston Pops and concert performances of Candide and On the Town in celebration of the Leonard Bernstein centennial.
Connick Jr. last performed at Tanglewood in 2015 and made his Tanglewood debut in 1990. The foundation of his art is the music of his native New Orleans, where he began performing as a pianist and vocalist at the age of five. In the upcoming concert he will celebrate the New Orleans influences that shaped his career.
