Adam Young, the founder of the electro-pop music collective Owl City, has released his own single of Dear Evan Hansen’s “Waving Through a Window,” the standout song sung by Tony Award winner Ben Platt in the Tony-winning musical scored by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
In a tweet announcing the single’s release, Young stated that the lyrics immediately resonated with him the first time he heard the song. “It almost felt like it was written about my own life story,” he wrote. “Having now had the opportunity to collaborate on my own version of the song, the experience has become even more surreal.”
