News Steve Martin and Edie Brickell Host Bright Star Reunion Concert December 12 The concert celebrates the Grammy-nominated original cast album.

Tony nominee Carmen Cusack and other members of the original cast of the Broadway musical Bright Star are taking part in a reunion concert December 12 at Town Hall in New York. The event is hosted by co-creators Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, who will also perform.

Kurt Deutsch, president of Ghostlight Records, announced the concert, which celebrates the show's original cast album, released this summer and recently nominated for a Grammy Award as Best Musical Theater Album of the year. The cast album hit No. 1 on the Top Current Blue Grass Albums chart, No. 2 on the Top Broadway chart, and No. 5 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart.

The musical ran 109 performances from March to June 2016.

Cusack is expected to be joined by co-stars Paul Alexander Nolan, Tony Award nominee Michael Mulheren, A.J. Shively, Hannah Elless, Tony nominee Stephen Bogardus, Tony nominee Dee Hoty, Stephen Lee Anderson, Emily Padgett, and Tony nominee Jeff Blumenkrantz, along with Maddie Shea Baldwin, Allison Briner-Dardenne, Max Chernin, Patrick Cummings, Sandra DeNise, Richard Gatta, Lizzie Klemperer, Michael X. Martin, William Michals, Tony Roach, Sarah Jane Shanks, and William Youmans.

“We loved the opportunity to get the entire cast back together for this one night," Martin and Brickell said in a joint statement. “And after much pleading, they’ve agreed to allow us to join them onstage, so we can finally get a taste of the spotlight.”

The musical won the 2016 Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical and was nominated for five Tony Awards including best score.

Immediately following the concert, record producer Peter Asher will moderate a Q&A with Martin, Brickell, and other members of the creative team. The concert takes place at 7:30 PM at Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street) in Manhattan. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.
