What show recently impressed you?
A year-and-a-half ago, I saw Saint-Ex by Jenny Giering and Sean Barry at the Weston Playhouse in Vermont. I’m a member of the company and was up to see this "World Premier" in late August 2011. Wonderful musical, brilliant cast, beautiful theatre. Then Hurricane Irene changed course and devastated the area; roads, families, businesses. The river overflowed and flooded the Playhouse basement; electrics out, dressing rooms and storage ruined, baby grand floating upside down in the newly constructed orchestra pit. The next day, neighbors and local contractors began showing up to help. Soon nearly 100 people were involved, including the cast of Saint-Ex. Neighbors fed the volunteers. Costumes and props were professionally cleaned. Electricity was restored. In five days the show was remounted with the band on stage and the cast entering through the house. The whole town showed up. The power of community! A magical night of theatre. (That night, leading actress Krysta Rodriguez called it "the ‘First Revival’ of Saint-Ex.")
What production are you most excited to see?
Murder Ballad. Or anything with John Ellison Conlee in it.
What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
You know, I’d love to see a revival of The Robber Bridegroom. I’ve got wonderful memories of the show. Also, "Big Head" is my dream role.
What are your current/upcoming projects?
Everything Kinky for now.
