Shoshana Bean, who returned to Broadway for the first time since starring in Wicked to take center stage in Waitress, has again extended her run in the Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson musical. She will now play Jenna through July 7 (instead of the previously reported June 2).
Starring opposite her through June 2 is Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan as Dr. Pomatter; Bean's new leading man will be announced at a later date.
The current company also includes Noah Galvin as Ogie, Charity Angél Dawson as Becky, Benny Elledge as Cal, Larry Marshall as Joe, Caitlin Houlahan as Dawn, and Ben Thompson as Earl.
Prior to becoming the first actor to play Elphaba on Broadway full-time after Idina Menzel, Bean made her Broadway debut in Hairspray. Her additional stage credits include Encores! Off-Center's 2018 presentation of Songs for a New World (a cast album for which was recently released), Funny Girl at North Shore Music Theatre, and the musical adaptation of Beaches. As a recording artist, she has released three solo studio albums: Superhero, O'Farrell Street, and, most recently, Spectrum, which took her to the top of Billboard's Jazz charts last year.
