Samuel French's 44th Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival has announced this year's playwright finalists. These 30 writers will present their plays and musicals at the week-long festival, scheduled to run August 20–24 at the Vineyard's Dimson 15th Street Theatre in New York City. Six winning works will be published and made available for licensing.
The 30 finalist works and writers were selected from more than 900 international submissions. Over the first four days of the festival, a panel of industry judges will select works to move on to a final presentation, from which the six winning pieces will be selected by the staff of Samuel French.
$20 presale tickets are available through August 18, at which point tickets will become $25. A $90 Festival Pass grants access to the first four nights of the festival—over which all 30 finalist productions will be performed—at a 55% discount.
