Celebrate the anniversary of The Addams Family opening on Broadway April 8, 2010, with a look back at the production. Featuring a score by Andrew Lippa and a cast led by Tony Award winners Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth, the show ran at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for 722 performances and earned two Tony nominations.
Also in the cast were Carolee Carmello, Kevin Chamberlin, Jackie Hoffman, Terrence Mann, Adam Riegler, Krysta Rodriguez, Zachary Sands, and Wesley Taylor. The ensemble was comprised of Erick Buckley, Rachel de Benedet, Matthew Gumley, Fred Inkley, Morgan James, Clark Johnson, Barrett Martin, Jessica Lea Patty, Liz Ramos, Charlie Sutton, and Aléna Watters.
Based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams, The Adams Family featured a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and music and lyrics by Lippa. The production was directed and designed (sets and costumes) by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, with creative consultation by Jerry Zaks and choreography by Sergio Trujillo. Lighting design was by Natasha Katz, sound design by Acme Sound Partners, and puppetry by Basil Twist.
