HIV Experience Resources Organization will present the fourth annual Broadway & Ballet HERO Awards October 16 at 8 PM at Stage 48, 605 West 48th Street.
This year’s honorees are Broadway’s Rachelle Rak, ABT principal ballet star James Whiteside, Wicked's Michael Campayno (who will receive the John Adams HERO Award for best Broadway debut), and The Jed Foundation, the recipient of the 2017 HERO Partner Award for “protecting the emotional health of teens and young adults, helping them grow into healthy thriving adults.”
The evening will feature 15 performances and a cast of over 30 stars from Broadway and the ballet world, including honorees Rak, Campayno, and Whiteside plus Casey Trenary, Michael-Leon Wooley, Michael Cusumano, Patrick Boyd, Sean Stewart, Alina Faye, Jose Sebastian, Luis Villabon, Morgan Stinnett, Cristy Candler, Georgina Pazcoguin, Brandon Leffler, Chris Messina, Jesse JP Johnson, Neil Starkenberg, Travis Nesbitt, Seeley Stephens, Evan Lacombe, and Gabrielle Salvatto as well as principal dancers from Ballet West, Olympic Gold Medalist in Gymnastics Icaurs-Ioannis Melissananidis, The Boy Band Project, and the dance department of Pace University. The opening number will be choreographed by Madeline Rodrigue.
Matty Maggiacomo will host the event with technical direction from Tommy Mazza. Stephen Leff produces.
