Tony Award nominee Tony Yazbeck, who recently wrapped up his starring role in the Broadway musical Prince of Broadway, returns to the New York stage December 1 and 3 in a pair of solo concerts at 7 PM at The Green Room 42.
Yazbeck, who earned his Tony nomination playing Gabey in the 2014 Broadway revival of On the Town, is planning an intimate evening of song and dance, exploring “an eclectic range of music from Gershwin to Joni Mitchell to Coldplay. Yazbeck tells his story of growing up on Broadway, to finding true love, and recalling his failures and successes (onstage and off) along the way.”
Yazbeck was in the studio October 30 recording the cast album of Prince of Broadway, which includes his performance of “The Right Girl” from Follies, among other songs.
Yazbeck has also appeared on Broadway in Finding Neverland (J.M. Barrie), Chicago (Billy Flynn), the Patti LuPone revival of Gypsy (Tulsa), A Chorus Line (Al), White Christmas (Phil Davis), plus chorus roles in Oklahoma!, Never Gonna Dance, and Gypsy with Tyne Daly.
