Featuring a new book by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane (The Nance, Cinderella), Johann Strauss Jr.'s opera is staged by Tony Award nominee Jeremy Sams (Amour, Noises Off).
In addition to Tony Award winner Szot (South Pacific) as Dr. Falke, the cast includes Tony nominee Burstein (South Pacific, Golden Boy) as Frosch and Wolfe (The Last Five Years) as Ida. The production is led by Susanna Phillips and Christopher Maltman as Rosalinde and Eisenstein, with Jane Archibald as Adele, Anthony Roth Costanzo as Prince Orlofsky, Michael Fabiano as Alfred and Patrick Carfizzi as Frank.
Die Fledermaus has set and costume design by Robert Jones, lighting design by Jennifer Schriever and choreography by Stephen Mear.
The Dec. 31 opening performance will be broadcast live on Metropolitan Opera Radio on SIRIUS XM Channel 74.
