The cast is headed by Max Clayton as Ren McCormack, Taylor Louderman as Ariel Moore and George Dvorsky as Reverend Shaw Moore.
"When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the adjustment period at his new high school," according to press notes. "What he isn't prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing."
Based on the original screenplay by Dean Pitchford, the musical features a stage adaptation by Pitchford and Walter Bobbie with music by Tom Snow, lyrics by Pitchford and additional music by Eric Carmen, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Loggins and Jim Steinman.
