Produced in collaboration with the University of Oklahoma's Weitzenhoffer Department of Musical Theatre, the production will play the Oklahoma City venue through Feb. 21. Artistic director Nick Corley directs with musical direction by Keith Levenson and choreography by Amy Reynolds-Reed.
The cast features Wicked's Julia Murney as Mrs. Walker, Curtains' Matt Farnsworth as Captain Walker, The Full Monty's Marcus Neville as Uncle Ernie and British actor Jon Fletcher as Tommy. The foursome perform alongside 21 students from the University of Oklahoma's Weitzenhoffer Department of Musical Theatre, including Emily Luhrs as Sally Simpson, Kristina Love as the Acid Queen and Jason Graurerholz as Cousin Kevin.
"Tommy, the hero of the show," press notes state, "is shocked into a catatonic state at the age of four after witnessing a tragic family accident, causing his guilt-stricken parents to search in vain for a cure. Tommy eventually finds celebrity and later triumph when he becomes an international pinball superstar, but is then forced to deal with the realities of his family relationships and of the world around him."
Show times are Thursdays at 7:30 PM, Fridays at 8 PM and Saturdays at 2 and 8 PM.
All performances will be held at the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City. Visit www.lyrictheatreokc.com for ticket information or call (405) 524-9312.
