The West End production of Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman's Wicked plays its 4,567th performance at the Apollo Victoria Theatre August 1, surpassing Billy Elliot The Musical to become the 16th longest-running show in London theatre history.
Now in its 11th year and seen by over eight million people in London alone, the current cast is headed by Alice Fearn (Elphaba), Sophie Evans (Glinda), Bradley Jaden (Fiyero), Melanie La Barrie (Madame Morrible), Andy Hockley (The Wizard), Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond), Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose), and Jack Lansbury (Boq).
The London staging also recently added two additional Thursday matinee performances this summer: August 17 and August 24.
The Broadway production continues at the Gershwin Theatre and recently welcomed a host of new and returning faces, including Wicked alum Jackie Burns as Elphaba, Amanda Jane Cooper as Glinda, Ashley Parker Angel as Fiyero, and Tony winner Rondi Reed as Madame Morrible.
