"We're bringing Oz to a new generation while preserving and honoring the heart and soul of Oz that we all know and love - and with the musical aspect which is such an important part of that world," said Bonne Radford, a producer on the film.
Directed by Daniel St. Pierre and Will Finn, the film features "Glee" and Spring Awakening star Lea Michele as the voice of Dorothy Gale, Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters as the voice of Glinda the Good Witch and "Smash" star Megan Hilty as the voice of the China Princess.
In addition to Michele, Peters and Hilty, the film features Oliver Platt as Wiser the Owl, Hugh Dancy as Marshall Mallow, Patrick Stewart as Tugg, Emmy and Tony Award winner Martin Short as the Jester, comedian-actor Jim Belushi as the Lion, Academy Award nominee Dan Aykroyd as the Scarecrow and Emmy Award winner Kelsey Grammer as the Tin Man.
The musical contains songs by Bryan Adams; the soundtrack album will be released by Sony Entertainment's Columbia/Epic label. Summertime Entertainment's Ryan Carroll and Roland Carroll are producing with Radford. For more information visit DorothyOfOz.com.
