LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater has announced that it will open its 2017–2018 season with Zoe Kazan’s After the Blast, a new drama that takes place in the wake of a major environmental disaster. Lila Neugebauer (The Antipodes, The Wolves) will direct the fall production.
Performances of After the Blast will begin October 7 ahead of an October 23 opening in the Claire Tow Theatre. The limited Off-Broadway engagement will play through November 19.
After the Blast sees a world where the human population has retreated underground. “Experience is simulated. Fertility is regulated,” read production notes. “And Anna and Oliver have one last chance to have a baby.”
Casting will be announced at a later date.
The production will have sets by Daniel Zimmerman, costumes by Kaye Voyce, lighting by Eric Southern, and sound by Brandon Wolcott.
