Laura Benanti, a Tony winner for her performance in the title role of the most recent Broadway revival of Gypsy, will join forces with her mother for upcoming concerts at Feinstein's/54 Below.
Laura and Linda Benanti will offer The Story Goes On May 5-6, 2017, at 7 PM at the intimate cabaret. The two artists will present “a musical journey through the special relationship between a mother and daughter.”
Linda Benanti, an accomplished actor and singer who performed on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regionally, has been a voice teacher with a studio in Kinnelon, NJ, for the past 35 years. Her last professional performance was in the 1981 revival of Brigadoon. The Story Goes On will mark her return to the stage.
Laura Benanti was most recently seen in the 2016 revival of Roundabout Theatre Company’s She Loves Me, for which she earned her fifth Tony nomination. Known for her roles in Swing!, Into the Woods, Gypsy, and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Benanti has also worked in television, performing as country singer Sadie Stone on Nashville and Alura Zor-El/Astra on Supergirl (which also stars Jeremy Jordan). Previously, she took on the role of Baroness Elsa Schraeder in the live television musical The Sound of Music Live! At the time of the concert, Laura will be a brand-new mother to a three-month-old daughter.
