The historic John Anson Ford Theatres complex in L.A. County's 32-acre regional park, is set to reopen to the public in July. The complex’s outdoor amphitheatre, which first opened in 1920 for a production of The Pilgrimage Play and has views of the Hollywood Hills, has been under construction.
The refurbished space, set to open July 8, will feature a new stage and improved lighting and sound equipment.
The John Anson Ford Theatres complex is one of the oldest performing arts venues in the area still in use. The Ford partners with L.A. County-based arts organizations to present a mix of culturally diverse music, dance, theatre, film and family events.
The 2016 season will run through October 15.
