Hundred Days, the folk-rock musical scored by husband-and-wife duo The Bengsons that premiered Off-Broadway last fall, will play San Diego in September as the final production of La Jolla Playhouse’s 2018–2019 season.
Featuring a book by Abigail and Shaun Bengson and playwright Sarah Gancher, Hundred Days will run September 22–October 21 in the Mandell Weiss Forum. The La Jolla production will reunite members of the original Off-Broadway creative team, including director Anne Kauffman and movement director Sonya Tayeh.
The Bengsons chart their unconventional three-week courtship in intimate detail, from their meeting to their wedding day three weeks later.
The La Jolla Playhouse’s complete 2018-2019 season follows: The Squirrels (June 5–July 1), queens (July 3–29), Seize the King (August 21–September 16), The Year to Come (December 4–30), Diana (February 19–March 31, 2019), and Hundred Days (September 22–October 21).
