Three new plays have been revealed for Donmar Warehouse's autumn 2025-2026 season, including two world premieres.
Mike Bartlett's Juniper Blood, a new play exploring the true cost of pursuing ideals in an imperfect world, will premiere August 16–October 4, with opening night set for August 26. James Macdonald will direct, with Terique Jarrett, Hattie Morahan, Nadia Parkes, Jonathan Slinger, and Sam Troughton starring.
In an unexpected move following the announcement of his Cynthia Erivo-led Dracula adaptation, which will play London's Noël Coward Theatre in early 2026, The Picture of Dorian Gray's Kip Williams is fitting in yet another adaptation before the close of the calendar year. The world premiere of his new translation of Jean Genet’s The Maids, which he will also direct, will run October 13–November 29, with opening night set for October 21. Casting will be revealed at a later date.
In addition to those two premieres, Donmar Artistic Director Tim Sheader will direct a revival of J.B. Priestley’s comedy When We Are Married, with a cast including Siobhan Finneran, Samantha Spiro, Sophie Thompson, and Marc Wootton. The farce will run December 6, 2025-February 7, 2026, with opening night set for December 17.
Said Sheader and Executive Director Henny Finch in a joint statement, “We want to ensure that younger audiences will always be able to access our work, and we are therefore continuing our commitment to offering thousands of £20 tickets for audiences aged 35 and under across these three new productions as well as working with 6,000 local young people this year through our Donmar LOCAL program. We are proud to be working with 95% of secondary state schools in our two local boroughs of Camden and Westminster, offering opportunities for thousands of children each year to enjoy our work, learn about careers in the industry and grow their skills as young theatre makers. Supporting new pathways into the industry has always been a central tenet of our work, and we are delighted that our skills development program for under-represented artists will also continue this year with Catalyst roles on a number of productions in this season."
