Tony and Olivier winner Ian McKellen stars in the title role under the direction of Trevor Nunn. The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 8 PM ET on WNET; check local listings. Encore broadcasts are scheduled for March 28 at 1:30 AM and April 5 at 12 noon on WNET/Thirteen and April 5 at 3 PM on WLIW Channel 21.

The telecast was co-directed by Sir Trevor Nunn and Chris Hunt.
