Broadway News Jevon McFerrin Steps Into Spotlight of Broadway's Hamilton, Temporarily Taking Over for Javier Muñoz Muñoz is expected to return to the production after recovering from a physical injury.

Jevon McFerrin, the current alternate for the title role in Broadway’s Hamilton, will take center stage at the Richard Rodgers Theatre effective immediately. He assumes the role from Javier Muñoz, who is on temporary medical leave to recover from a physical injury.

In addition to alternating in the role of Alexander Hamilton, McFerrin also served as the standby for three dual-roles in the show: Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson, John Laurens and Philip Hamilton, and Hercules Mulligan and James Madison. Prior to Hamilton, he appeared in Motown on Broadway and on the road.

Michael Luwoye, the former alternate for the role, will launch the national tour of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony and Pulitzer-winning musical. Performances begin on March 10 in San Francisco.
