Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family, Spelling Bee) and SNL’s Rachel Dratch have signed on to co-star in Island Queen, a new independent film comedy from screen writer Zackary Grady.
Grady’s script centers on a teenage hockey player whose plans to try out for the figure skating team get complicated when he gets trapped on a ferry boat with a captain whose sole mission is to get to a festival for a famous film about a shark.
The cast also features Max Dowden, Meredith Holzman, Marisol Sacramento, Nik Sadhnani, and Grady.
Ferguson is producing the film in partnership with Justin Mikita and Jenn Harris (Silence! The Musical, Gayby). Harris and Grady co-direct Island Queen, which is currently shooting on location in Massachusetts.
