Jeremy Jordan will return to the musical theatre stage this spring, taking on the role of Dr. Pomatter in Broadway's Waitress. He steps into the Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson musical April 8.

He'll replace Joey McIntyre as the new-to-town OBGYN; the New Kids on the Block star takes his final bow at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre April 7. Jordan will star alongside Shoshana Bean, who joins the cast March 18. The two are scheduled to play a limited engagement through May 12.

The musical teased the news on social media, sharing a brief clip of Jordan, unnamed, singing the show's ballad "She Used to Be Mine" with his signature timbre and runs. He first performed the tune at MCC Theater's Miscast gala last year.

Jordan appeared on Broadway earlier this season in American Son and will soon reprise his performance alongside Kerry Washington and Steven Pasquale in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of the play. His additional stage credits include a Tony-nominated turn in Newsies, as well as Broadway's Bonnie and Clyde, Rock of Ages, and West Side Story.

On screen, he's known for his performances in Supergirl, Smash, and the film adaptation of The Last Five Years.

In addition to Bean and McIntyre, the current cast of Waitress includes Eddie Jemison as Oagie, Lenne Klingaman as Dawn, Charity Angél Dawson as Becky, Benny Elledge as Cal, Larry Marshall as Joe, and Ben Thompson as Earl.
